Toddler Time

Toddler Time

This drop-in Toddler Story Time is designed for two to four-year-old children together with their caretaker. Siblings and nursing mothers are always welcome.

We introduce children to many new and traditional books, puppets, and songs. Expect to sing, dance, talk, and play with your child at most sessions as we help them learn how story time works. Click here for a printable schedule showing each week's theme.

  • Children under 3 years old: Caregivers must remain in the room. Children 3 & over: Caregivers MUST remain in the library.
  • Children attend Preschool Solo Time independently while caregivers relax nearby. We introduce classroom skills and independence using our familiar story time format. Children often need a gradual approach to attending solo. You may want to start by attending Friday’s Books & Bubbles together, then watching a Solo Storytime or two through the door. Repeat as needed if the child is nervous.
  • We cancel children’s events whenever Mason City Schools close due to Severe Weather. Delays do not count as closings.
  • Siblings & nursing mothers are always welcome in our Board Books & Bubbles, Toddler, and Family Times.
