Preschool Solo Time
This drop in story time is designed for preschool-age children ready to attend story time without their grown-ups in the room with them. Attendance is drop-in, first come, first served. To see a flyer summarizing themes and story times for various ages of children, click here.
Preschool Solo Time is very interactive and structured. Children attend Preschool Solo Time independently while caregivers relax nearby. Ms. Cheryl and Jess introduce classroom skills and independence using our familiar story time format. Children often need a gradual approach to attending solo. You may want to start by attending Friday’s Books & Bubbles together, and having your child sit on the floor away from you while you sit in a chair behind them. Then try watching a Solo Storytime or two through the door. Repeat as needed if the child is nervous.
Registration is not required for most story times.
We meet nearly every week year-round.
We cancel children’s events whenever Mason City Schools close due to Severe Weather. Delays do not count as closings.
