Description of Event: Who’s at Your Bird Feeder? Join Naturalist Carol Mundy for this engaging program about the Fall and Winter birds of Southwestern Ohio. She will talk about some of the year-round resident birds as well as the winter visitors who may frequent your yard. You can pick up some tips for bird identification, gain some ideas for bird feeders, or learn about the best plants, trees, and shrubs to attract birds. 

Presenter Bio: Carol Mundy was a Naturalist with the Hamilton County Park District in Cincinnati for nearly 30 years. For 15 years she was the “resident Naturalist” on the Denny McKeown Gardening Program on radio, where she’d take questions and help people with urban wildlife issues. In 2004 she authored the “Herb” section of the revised edition of “The Gardening Book for Ohio” for Denny McKeown.

Today she hosts a weekly radio program on WMKV in Cincinnati about the interesting and sometimes unusual aspects of nature, science, and culture. She also does regular guest spots on GardenTalk Radio with Mark Webber on WHIO in Dayton. Formerly she was a nature columnist and writer for Fifty Plus Magazine where she brought to light the wonderful, but often overlooked aspects of nature in our everyday life. She taught for the University of Cincinnati’s Horticulture Degree program for nearly ten years.

Carol’s been awarded the Citation for Horticulture Education from the Garden Club of Ohio. She’s been a speaker at many local and national groups including the National Youth and Children’s Gardening Symposium for the American Horticultural Society, the National Wildlife Rehabilitator’s Association, the Herb Society of America, and the Midwest Native Plant Conference. She’s consulted on projects for Spring Grove Cemetery, The Children’s Home of Cincinnati, and The Rain Garden Alliance of Greater Cincinnati.
