Gr. 4-6 Art of Origami Camp
Free. Registration required. Limited to children entering grades 4, 5, or 6. All materials supplied.
NOTE: Children need to attend all five 90-minute classes. Each day's class builds on the previous lessons learned. The Origami Camps held 6/9-13 and 6/23-27 are identical and present the same material. Children may register only for 1 session, not both. Duplicate registrations will be deleted. Plan to check in 5 minutes before each class. Caretakers must remain on the premises. No drop-offs, please.
The VisMO program is a research-based, Origami-inspired curriculum that focuses on fostering visuospatial skills in young kids. Class is based on NSF-funded research that showed an increase in participants' spatial language development and familiarity with spatial concepts, two essential skills in STEM career fields.
Student Outcomes - expanded spatial language, familiarity with spatial concepts & reasoning, increased collaborative problem-solving ability
